Sevierville In the Fall
Fall is the perfect time to plan a family trip to Sevierville, Tennessee.
Visiting the Smoky Mountains when the leaves are changing and the air is crisp is one of the most totally captivating times to spend time in East Tennessee, and it’s also when local families are busy with school, work and the day to day so visiting during the fall is a great time to soak in all that East Tennessee has to offer.
Here are 5 things to do in Sevierville this fall:
1. Visit Dollywood
Probably one of the most popular attractions in East Tennessee, Dollywood offers wonderful seasonal opportunities for families visiting the area. And, according to TripAdvisor, it’s the #1 Theme Park in the United States and the number 8 in the world. Pretty impressive stats for Dolly Parton.
Dollywood offers visitors over 50 world-class rides, entertainment and award-winning dining. But, the attractions don’t stop there. Dollywood visitors can also enjoy a stay at the beautiful Heartsong Lodge and Resort, Dollywood’s captivating hotel (and bonus, you may even see Dolly ion person as she has been known to visit the hotel and say hello to the guests).
A must when visiting Dollywood this fall? Be sure to grab some cinnamon bread, ride the Screaming Eagle and special event this season, witness the Harvest Festival (from September 23rd - October 29th). The Harvest Festival features award-winning Great Pumpkin LumiNights and the debut of the new Hoot Owl Hollow.
2. Take a Driving Tour
Check out scenic vistas, churches, cemeteries and of course a fall favorite, apple picking.
Before you set out on your trip, grab a local coffee in Sevierville. Enjoy a seasonal latte or fall macchiato while you drive around the Smoky Mountains. Nothing feels more nostalgic than taking in the sites, smells and tastes of the fall season. (May we recommend a locally roasted coffee expertly poured to perfection? (Shameless plug).
3. Visit a few of the local attractions
Some of our favorites are the Forbidden Caverns, Rainforest Adventures, Apple Barn Winery, Kyker Farms Corn Maze and go Antiquing.
Sevierville is known for being family-friendly so almost every local spot is going to offer fun for the whole family while creating lasting memories.
4. Take a trip to Pigeon Forge
Pigeon Forge is loaded with fun things to do. In fact, there are so many attractions there is no way to see it all in one trip.
Some of the best (and local favorite) spots though are Dolly Parton’s Stampede, the Titanic Museum, The Island (that is a whole day in itself) and Wonderworks.
5. Live like a local
Take some time to visit some of the hidden gems. Get coffee from a local Sevierville coffee shop, visit a locally owned restaurant like Five Oaks Farm Kitchen, The Diner, Holston’s Kitchen or Applewood Farmhouse. Plus if you’re looking for a fantastic way to start your day in Sevierville getting breakfast (pancakes always) are a must!
